Competitive Pay Incentives for Firemedics $17,000 Annual Paramedic Stipend Firemedics who hold a valid Florida Paramedic certification and are credentialed by the County Medical Director earn a $17,000 annual stipend , paid bi-weekly upon assignment. This incentive reflects the Firemedic's advanced clinical expertise and leadership responsibility while serving as Paramedic in Charge (PIC) . Available to Firemedics who maintain all required certifications and credentials. Rescue Seat Pay - Earn More on ALS Units $2.00/hour for Lead Paramedics on ALS Transport Units $1.00/hour for Secondary providers (EMT or Paramedic) (One Lead and one secondary provider per unit.) IAFF Collective Bargaining Agreement Minimum Education and Experience :
Graduation from high school or equivalent is required. Possession of an Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology or Emergency Medical Services Technology or equivalent is preferred. Licenses and/orCertificates:
Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Drivers license (Class E minimum) DOH approved certification as a Paramedic, State of Florida Certification as a Firefighter, State of Florida Valid certification and maintenance as an A.C.L.S. provider E.V.O.C. certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment Must be at least 18 years of age Who We're Looking For We're seeking skilled, confident professionals who bring a strong command of advanced emergency medical care , including current practices, procedures, and treatment protocols. Very frequent exposure to changes in temperature and humidity.Risk/Safety Conditions:
Frequently around moving equipment, exposure to dust, gases and fumes, slippery or irregular surfaces, and moving objects. Occasional exposure to excessive noise levels.Physical Activities:
Frequent heavy lifting of over 50 pounds. Constant standing. Very frequent speaking and hearing,and detailed inspection/reading/editing. Frequent walking, sitting and bending/stooping.
