In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients between healthcare facilities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety throughout the journey. Your expertise in emergency medical services, combined with your strong clinical skills, will help deliver critical support during interfacility transfers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities Safely operate emergency transport vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols during interfacility transfers Provide basic life support (BLS) interventions, including airway management, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessment Assist with patient triage and perform thorough physical examinations to determine care needs before and during transport Administer medications and injections as authorized, following aseptic techniques and medical protocols Monitor physiological parameters, interpret vital signs, and communicate patient status effectively to receiving medical teams Use critical care transport skills for patients requiring specialized attention, including those with trauma or urgent medical conditions Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, medication administration, and transport details in compliance with healthcare regulations Skills Proven EMT experience with a strong foundation in basic life support procedures Hospital experience or emergency room background that enhances patient assessment and emergency medicine skills Critical care experience preferred, especially within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and venipuncture techniques for effective patient evaluation and treatment Experience with airway management devices (DME), medication administration, and injection techniques Ability to perform physical examinations and evaluate vital signs accurately under pressure Strong driving skills with the ability to handle heavy lifting safely during patient loading/unloading processes Familiarity with triage procedures and urgent care protocols to prioritize patient needs effectively This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to advance their careers in emergency medicine and critical care transport.
