Know Your Team:
Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute. This position is accountable for the efficient analysis and performing various point of care testing procedures as ordered and will be responsible for standards established and performing time sensitive tests and diagnostics such as: EKGs, POCT, labs and blood cultures. This individual will be providing patient care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing the set of skills as approved by the Medical Director. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to function in an assistive role to the licensed nurse in the provision of technical and environmental patient care activities. This individual will be responsible for activities of patient care that involve specialty training pertinent to Emergency patient care. He/she is expected to adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act, and Oklahoma State Department of Health EMS Division.
Job Requirements:
Vocational / Technical School. Must have valid Paramedic License. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
