Job Description

Position Summary Our client is seeking a Hyperbaric Technician to join their Wound Care Center in Monroeville, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of hyperbaric chambers and related equipment during hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatments. You will collaborate closely with the clinical team to ensure patient safety, provide technical support, and deliver high-quality care throughout each stage of treatment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate hyperbaric chambers and related equipment in accordance with established protocols and safety standards Prepare patients for HBOT by reviewing medical history, explaining procedures, and addressing questions or concerns Monitor patients during therapy sessions, recognizing signs of distress or complications and responding appropriately Maintain accurate treatment documentation, equipment logs, and safety checklists Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of hyperbaric chambers and equipment Adhere to all regulatory, safety, infection control, and fire prevention guidelines Assist with emergency response procedures and participate in safety drills Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment environment Stay current with advancements in hyperbaric medicine and participate in ongoing training as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in healthcare or a related field preferred Previous experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) preferred Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) or relevant credential (e.g., DMT, EMT) preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Prior experience in hyperbaric medicine, respiratory therapy, emergency medical services, or a related healthcare field preferred Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot technical equipment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Ability to remain calm and respond efficiently in emergency situations Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to assist with patient transfers and lift/move up to 50 lbs as needed Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to operate technical equipment
