Paramedic Medical City Arlington Shift:

Job Summary and Qualifications The Paramedic will be able to provide quality care to patients under the direction of the Medical Director in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Medical City Healthcare. Reports to the charge nurse for shift assignments and direction of shift duties assigned. Each RN decides on a case-by-case basis what nursing tasks may be delegated to the unlicensed personnel in accordance with Rule 224 (relating to RN delegation in acute care settings or for patients with acute conditions). You will assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems. You will assist with other technical functions such as: obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis. You will assist with patient care and treatments including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications. You will complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care. You will assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes. You will clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required . You will provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members.
