Nurse Manager and Facility Director Job Summary:
As a Paramedic at Total Point Emergency Center, you will provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care. You will assist with patient assessments, treatments, and documentation, as well as perform routine clinical tasks such as IV insertions. This position requires proficiency in IV insertion and maintaining certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). You will report to the Nurse Manager and Facility Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Patient Care & Assistance :
a. Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments, treatments, and examinations. b. Take and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels. c. Prepare patients for procedures and ensure a clean, safe environment for care delivery. d. Administer medications and treatments as directed by providers within scope of practice. 2.
IV Insertion :
a. Perform proficient IV insertions as needed for patient treatments. b. Monitor and assess IV sites for any signs of complications. c. Document IV insertions and maintain accurate records of treatments. 3.
Clinical Tasks :
a. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens as directed. b. Assist with point-of-care testing (POCT) and ensure accurate documentation of results. c. Perform wound care and assist with minor procedures under the direction of healthcare providers. d. Assist in the coordination of patient care and discharge planning. 4.
Documentation & Records :
a. Accurately document patient care, treatments, and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. b. Ensure all records are kept in compliance with facility policies and HIPAA regulations. 5.
Equipment & Supplies :
a. Ensure all medical equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions to the Nurse Manager or Facility Director. b. Assist with inventory control and ensure all necessary medical supplies are stocked and available. 6.
Collaboration & Communication :
a. Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care. b. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and their families about care plans, treatments, and procedures. c. Maintain open lines of communication with the Nurse Manager and Facility Director to address any operational needs. 7.
Certifications :
a. Maintain current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications and be prepared to assist in emergency situations. b. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certifications and stay current with clinical practices. 8.
Other Job Duties :
a. Perform other job duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Facility Director to ensure the smooth operation of Total Point Emergency Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent training.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Proficiency in IV insertion.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in an emergency or urgent care setting preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physically demanding tasks for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and positioning of patients and medical equipment.
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced emergency room setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and blood-borne pathogens.
  • Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on facility needs.

$25.00 per hour
