The Empower Café Pathway Navigator will help oversee the daily operations of Empower Café, a social enterprise, training program designed to provide certification, experience, and employment opportunities for individuals living with disabilities and/or facing other barriers to employment. The role involves oversight and training of staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all employees and customers. This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time employment in the future.Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in café, food production/sales, or restaurant management. Experience collaborating with individuals living with disabilities and/or other barriers to employment is highly desirable. Must have comfort and aptitude to collaborate with people of various backgrounds. Strong leadership and team management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. Proficiency in using café management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. Adaptable, independent, creative thinker with a solution-oriented mindset. Ethical judgment and discretion with confidential information. Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects at once, meet deadlines, and produce consistent, measurable results. Must have dependable transportation and have a driving record acceptable to WE Inc.'s insurance company for coverage, plus auto liability coverage that meets WE Inc.'s requirements.Responsibilities :
Operational Oversight:
Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain equipment. Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.Staff Administration:
Train and supervise café staff, including individuals living with disabilities and/or facing barriers to employment by providing ongoing coaching and support to staff, fostering their professional development. Schedule staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operation. Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any performance issues promptly.Customer Service:
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly. Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain customers.Financial Management:
Monitor and manage the café's budget, including revenue and expenses. Implement cost-saving measures and strategies to increase profitability.Program Development:
Integrate job readiness and development curriculum into daily operations. Coordinate with the garden and healthy eating promotion initiatives.Community Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders. Represent Empower Café at community events and networking opportunities. Collaborate with Director of Marketing to promote the café's mission and programs through various marketing channels.Food Preparation:
Prepare menu items and basic food production. Follow recipes, portioning, and food presentation standards. Lead daily café operations by helping ensure menu items are prepared in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of food preparation areas. Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures during preparation and service. $22.00 - 25.00/hourTypical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a café setting and commercial kitchen. Work may require sitting for long periods of time, standing, and limited public speaking. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment, as necessary. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires driving, primarily locally, but occasionally regionally. Involves contact with staff and the public. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours will vary based on events and program needs, but typical work hours are 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
