Job Description About the Organ Referral Liaison The Organ Referral Liaison plays a pivotal role in effectively monitoring heart-beating ventilated (HBV) referrals, actively followed by Donor Network of Arizona for donation potential. Responsible for responding promptly to all HBV referrals, conducting comprehensive medical evaluations and review of labs to assess donor suitability. Conducts Family Readiness Assessments (FRA) and collaborate with hospital staff to align patient care and family discussions. Provides hospital support through ongoing communication, rounding, and educational programs to optimize the donation process. Ensures regular communication with hospital staff to facilitate the donation process and address concerns effectively. Key Responsibilities Respond to and manage HBV referrals, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up Evaluate donor suitability through medical record, lab, and neurological review Partner with internal teams and hospital staff to preserve donation opportunities Conduct family readiness assessments and support donation conversations when appropriate Coordinate referral activity and communicate updates with clinical and internal teams Build strong hospital relationships through rounding, education, and support Troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with SOPs, and maintain accurate records Travel between hospitals throughout the Tucson valley to support onsite referral activity Night shift position, 7 pm - 7 am, 3 days/week We Offer Competitive salary $30.25 - $36.30 per hour, plus shift differentials Annual organizational incentive program Medical, dental & vision insurance Paid life and long-term disability insurance Voluntary life insurance options 403(b) employer match and profit sharing Tuition assistance program Employee wellness & assistance programs Inclusive culture - consistently recognized as a top workplace in Arizona. Tobacco-free, drug-free workplace Qualifications Requirements 2 years' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient care, organ donation, or family support. Valid driver's license required; frequent travel between sites is expected during most shifts. Experience reviewing medical records, labs, and other medical data. Experience providing emotional support in high-pressure or critical situations. Working knowledge of established regulatory standards. Proven ability to collaborate with healthcare teams and facilitate sensitive discussions with families. Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skill Preferred Educational backgrounds: Health Sciences (Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, or similar healthcare-related fields) Social Work (BSW, MSW) Chaplaincy or Counseling (with a focus on family support and crisis intervention) Child Life Specialist (Certification or degree in Child Life or related field) Hospice Care or Palliative Care (Certifications or relevant healthcare training) Hospital Patient Advocacy (Training or certification in patient advocacy) Home Health Aide (Certification or degree in home health or patient care) Healthcare Customer Service (Training in healthcare communication or patient relations) Patient Care Coordination (Education in healthcare administration or clinical coordination) Additional Information Donor Network of Arizona is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
