This role is perfect for someone who is organized, people-oriented, and bilingual (Spanish/English preferred). You'll help patients get the care they need by scheduling, greeting, and guiding them through clinic processes, while also supporting smooth day-to-day clinic operations. Great entry level position to a growing team working on whole person care with a multi-disciplinary team (fitness instructor, nutritionist, doctor, mental health providers, and case managers. You will also have the opportunity for free training as a CHW (Community Health Worker).
Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments, take vital signs, room patients (in person and telehealth visits)
  • Collect patient co-pays and payments at check-in; provide receipts and document transactions
  • Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and prior authorizations prior to visits
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments; coordinate provider calendars
  • Help patients complete intake forms and consents; review for accuracy and completeness
  • Answer and return phone calls, voicemails, and emails in a professional, courteous manner
  • Maintain organized patient records (electronic and paper as needed)
  • Work closely with other staff to assure smooth patient flow and reduce patient wait times
  • Communicate with the biller or clinic manager regarding payment or insurance issues
  • Assist with basic patient navigation: explain clinic processes, provide resource handouts, and connect patients with case managers or clinicians as needed
  • Follow up on "no show" patients daily
  • Communicate patient complaints or operational problems to the Clinic Manager
  • Pitch in with other small-team tasks as needed—at DPHC, we support each other
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, customer service, or front desk or back office roles is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, and basic office software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask in a busy clinic environment.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
