Oak Lawn, IL Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Patient Educator to join our healthcare team in Oak Lawn, IL. The ideal candidate will specialize in educating patients about surgical procedures and the proper use of eye drops to ensure optimal recovery and eye health. Responsibilities Provide clear and comprehensive education to patients regarding upcoming surgeries, including pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. Instruct patients on the correct administration and usage of prescribed eye drops. Answer patient questions and address concerns related to surgery and eye care. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and update patient education materials. Document patient education sessions accurately in medical records. Ensure patients understand their treatment plans to promote adherence and positive health outcomes. Qualifications Previous experience as a Patient Educator or similar role in a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and eye care, particularly related to eye drops. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain complex medical information in an easy-to-understand manner. Compassionate and patient-focused approach. Relevant certifications or training in patient education is a plus.
