Job Description

Patient Information Liaison Job Summary:
The Patient Information Liaison is responsible for patient registration activities, face-to-face check-in and check-out procedures, insurance verification, cash collections, and coordination of patient care. This position will work closely with the clinical teams to assure every patient is able to receive timely and continued care.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Welcomes patients and visitors to the office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members. Provider excellent customer service by returning voicemails and answering portal messages in a timely manner. Schedules appointments for the Providers to optimize patient satisfaction, and provider time. Reviews daily schedules in advance to ensure accuracy of appointment and prepare for the patient visit. Ensure insurance verification has been completed and prior authorization has been obtained as needed. Accurate data entry into our EMR (Athena). Retrieves and sends patient records as needed per HIPAA guidelines. Contributes to the revenue cycle by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patientcharges. Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition. Assist patients with insurance and billing questions. Complete disability forms in a timely manner. Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed. Serves as a liaison between Hospitals, Patients, and Providers. Maintains professional and positive team relationships and work environment. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting when changes are necessary. Other duties as assigned by Team Lead.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients. Excellent customer service skills Good organizational skills. Must be adaptable to technology. Excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Self-motivated.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
