GED Full Job Description About Us Position Summary:

  • 5pm Enhances the patient experience from intake of referrals to removing barriers to completing procedures.
Assist patients in moving through their Gastroenterology experience and in facilitating external referrals to specialists. Key Responsibilities Assists Patient Service Representatives with entering incoming referrals in a timely manner to meet patient needs. Reaches out to patients scheduled for procedures to confirm that they have prep instructions, a ride for their procedure, obtained correct prep supplies and to remove any barriers for patients completing testing. Works with the financial advocate to assist patients in payment plans or charitable care and to remove any barriers of financial concerns. Serves as an outgoing referral assistant to assure patients get the appointments for outgoing referrals to specialists scheduled. Assists in all the Front Desk responsibilities whenever needed which includes, answering the telephone, check-in, check-out, reminder calls, scheduling and responding to staff messages. Maintains daily, weekly and monthly inspection checklists. Promotes education throughout the community on colon cancer awareness. Relationship building with referring primary care doctors to assure a cohesive referral to completion process.
Education/Experience/Licensure Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred,
Experience:
Previous experience (3-5 years) working in a medical office setting preferred but not required.
Certification/Licensure:
N/A Software/Hardware:
Proficient in MS Office, Epic experience preferred.
