Job Description

Apply MAT Healthcare Navigator Gallup, NM Apply Description SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Healthcare Navigator works to enroll eligible individuals into health insurance, in order to maximize opportunities to bill for services. They develop educational material regarding benefits and prepares and delivers trainings regarding insurance benefits to clients, at community events, health fairs, meetings, and other venues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs key functions related to the success of the MAT program within Four Corners including patient outreach via telephone, community outreach and office encounters, coordination of patient activities, and the appropriate utilization of services. Educates colleagues, clients, loved ones, and partners on healthcare systems and insurance benefits. Maintains appropriate training and documentation for successful third party reimbursement. Works in conjunction with case managers and client engagement advocate to follow any changes with clients treatment/recovery needs. Ensures clients are aware of rights, responsibilities, and take full advantage of benefits throughout their treatment and recovery. Coordinates services with case managers, the jails, the courts and system partners. Stays abreast of changes to laws locally and nationally. Maintains ethical and confidentiality rules and regulations in accordance with
HIPAA/42 CFR
Part 2. May be required to perform other duties as required. Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Special Skills:
Clerical Knowledge of office procedures and of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic. Skill in data entry with minimal errors. Knowledge of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures. Communication Skill in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate. Skill in talking to others to convey information effectively. Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Critical thinking &
Problem-solving:
Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to process information logically. Education and Experience:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelors or Associates and/or training related to insurance eligibility and statutes. At least two years working with the SUD population in a clinical setting, outpatient setting, or care coordination experience is preferred. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural (Navajo/English) preferred.
