Job Description

Compensation Data The base salary range for the Associate Director position is $140,000 to $222,000. The base salary range for the Sr. Associate Director position is $170,000 to $269,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future. The Associate Director, Patient Advocacy & Professional Relations is accountable for implementing and operationalizing the patient advocacy and specified Professional Medical Associations strategy for their specific TA in line with the direction provided by the Director, Patient Advocacy & Professional Relations. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the identification, assessment, and selection of advocacy organizations and specified Professional Medical Associations to partner with and facilitate appropriate connection points. The position holder understands the mission and vision of each organization to develop and determine how to work most effectively with partner organizations. The Associate Director, Patient Advocacy & Professional Relations is also required to work closely with the identified patient advocacy groups to support patient educational workshops, disease awareness and management initiatives, patient speaker engagements, clinical trial awareness and other initiatives. This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site. Duties & Responsibilities Pro-actively identifies and evaluates patient advocacy groups and specified professional medical associations. Establishes partnerships with reviewed and approved patient advocacy groups and maintains relationship with them, thereby enhancing external awareness of Boehringer's commitment to patients. Oversees and manages the initiatives designed to support the products through effective advocacy relations, emphasizing shared goals between the organization and priority groups which align business objectives and realities. Participates in issues response activities for all related products within the TA. Gather information on patients and caregiver needs and challenges and derive insights to be shared with internal teams (Brand/Marketing, Sales, Commercial, Patient Support solutions, etc.) Suggest potential ways to enhance satisfaction of patients and improve relationship with patient advocacy groups. Works with Patient Culture and Connection team to advise on patient recruitment, contracting and execution of Patient Care Networks for relevant TA(s). Collaborates with identified Patient Advocacy and specified professional medical associations to: Serve as the primary point of contact to patient advocacy organizations across the value chain / patient journey. Provide support with disease awareness and management and navigating treatment journey. Educate key patient advocacy groups and communities on Boehringer therapies and patient support solutions. Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Three-plus (3+) years in the healthcare advocacy or pharmaceutical, biotech, device industry. Pharmaceutical/healthcare experience in specific TA. Ability to implement strategies at a ground level; navigate uncertainties and adjust to changing needs. Adept problem solver, able to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and develop creative solutions. Strong project and event management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement in specific TA. Understanding of and experience with social and digital media. Strong presentation skills. Domestic and international travel = up to 20%.
