Job Description
Job Summary:
The Clinical Social Worker/Patient Advocate provides services for the patients and families of the Program in Women's Oncology to address psycho-social, environmental, and behavioral factors which have impact on the healthy functioning and/or recovery of the patients and families. The incumbent functions as a member of the health care team to provide direct clinical services including assessment and coordination of social services. In addition the incumbent oversees the Helping Hands Project. The incumbents duties extend to participating in program planning, evaluation, on-going growth, and coordinates daily activities, including volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling. The incumbent develops a network of community agencies to facilitate referrals. Performs other duties as requested.Specifications :
Master's degree in Social Work and a license as a Clinical Social Worker (CSW) or if hired prior to 5/2/2011 a Licensed Mental Health Worker (LMHW) required and a license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) preferred. Must have first-hand knowledge and/or experience with Oncology patients in the cancer treatment setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Supervisory and administrative experience helpful. Must have access to transportation and a valid driver's license, and ability to work flexible hours.
