Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Sitter, where your compassionate presence makes a meaningful difference in patient care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive supervision and support to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort during their hospital stay or home care journey. Your energetic and proactive approach will help create a secure environment, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on delivering exceptional medical treatment. Responsibilities Maintain constant visual and verbal supervision of assigned patients to prevent falls, injuries, or other safety risks Observe patient behavior closely and report any changes or concerns promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers Assist with basic patient needs such as repositioning, providing comfort measures, and ensuring they are safe and comfortable Support patients during transitions within the hospital or home setting, including escorting them safely between departments or appointments Follow established protocols for patient safety, including infection control procedures and emergency response guidelines Document observations accurately and communicate relevant information clearly to the healthcare team Foster a caring environment by engaging with patients in a respectful and supportive manner to promote emotional well-being Experience Prior experience in home or community care settings is highly desirable, demonstrating your ability to support individuals in various environments Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to ensure preparedness for emergency situations Previous hospital experience or exposure to critical care transport enhances your understanding of acute patient needs Strong skills in patient care, including attentive listening and compassionate interaction, are essential for success in this role Ability to remain vigilant and responsive during long shifts while maintaining a positive attitude This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to patient safety and comfort.
