Job Description

Hourly Pay Range:
$17.00•$23.80•The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Observation Assistant•
Resource Team Location:
Northwest Community Hospital•
Arlington Heights, IL Hours:
7am-3:30pm/7am-7:30pm, Every other weekend
Per Diem Commitment:
Level 1•must be able to work at least 48 hours every 6 weeks, including 24 hours of weekend time in 6 weeks; 1 summer and 1 winter holiday Floating Required What you will do: Provides constant observation for designated patient(s); stays alert and supportive throughout assigned shift; reorients patient to surroundings (day, time, and place) as necessary; provides appropriate interaction and verbal direction to the patient. Seeks Registered Nurse assistance for any emergency situation and as needed. Documents patient's behavior at regular intervals as required by sitter guidelines utilizing an established checklist. Assists health care professionals with repositioning, turning, and transferring patients. Ambulates patients who are independent in ambulation. Accompanies patient and transporter to tests off the unit, staying with the patient as directed by the technician. Keeps a safe patient environment by checking patient room for and removing possible hazards.
What you will need:
The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, visitors and other members of the health care team. Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics.
