About the
Role:
Join the Growing Orthopedic Center of Illinois team! The Xray Patient Transport position is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients to and from radiology departments within a healthcare facility. This role focuses on providing compassionate and timely transport services, facilitating smooth patient flow and minimizing delays in diagnostic imaging procedures. The individual in this position acts as a critical link between patients and medical staff, ensuring that patients are comfortable and secure during transit. Additionally, the role requires adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards to maintain a sterile and hazard-free environment. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and the operational efficiency of radiology services.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to safely operate patient transport equipment such as wheelchairs. Basic knowledge of hospital safety and infection control procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Physical ability to assist patients with mobility and to stand or walk for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in patient transport or a healthcare environment. Customer service experience in a healthcare setting.Responsibilities:
Transport patients safely to and from the Xray and radiology departments, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled imaging procedures. Assist patients with mobility challenges, including those using wheelchairs, stretchers, or other assistive devices. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, radiology technicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transport schedules. Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of transport equipment such as wheelchairs. Adhere to all office safety protocols, infection control procedures, and patient privacy regulations during transport.Skills:
The required skills are utilized daily to ensure patients are transported safely and comfortably, requiring strong interpersonal communication to interact with patients and healthcare staff effectively. Physical stamina and coordination are essential for maneuvering equipment and assisting patients with varying mobility needs. Knowledge of safety protocols and infection control is applied consistently to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Preferred skills such as first aid certification and familiarity with hospital operations enhance the ability to respond to emergencies and streamline transport logistics.
