Patient Transporter

The Patient Transporter cares for patients under the direction of the Manager of Patient and Guest Relations. Responsible for the transportation of patients and patient related items within the organization. Assists with greeting of patients/visitors and transporting to requested area. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that follow Heart Behaviors. Transports patients by wheelchair, cart, bed, or special cart. Patients may be transported while connected to I-Meds, oxygen, or portable suction. Able to assist/transfer patient's alone to/from bed, cart, or wheelchair. Transport isolation patients. Notifies unit caregivers when patient returns to unit some monitors can be re-connected Ability to prioritize tasks according to status of Stat, ASAP, or routine. Maintains appropriate communication with patients, families, and staff throughout the organization. Must cope well in emergency conditions and handle stressful situations. Cleans equipment as needed between patients per hospital standard. Observes and reports any changes in patient's condition. Performs other duties as assigned. Education H.S. Diploma

• Required Work Experience Previous hospital experience and/or familiarity with medical supplies and equipment
• Preferred Patient Experience
• Preferred Exceptional Customer service
• Preferred Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Required within 90 Days Travel Requirements Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed.
