Under the supervision of the Patient Transport Department Manager, the Patient Escort safely transports patients throughout the hospital from admission to discharge.Qualifications:
Required:
Must obtain BLS-CPR within the first three months of employment in this position and maintain it Successful completion of general and department specific orientationPreferred:
GED or High School Diploma Hospital patient transport experienceScheduling Requirements Shift:

20 hrs. Require to work every other weekend and rotating holidaysEssential Functions:
As a Transporter, you are an integral part of the patient care team The Transporter position transports patients within the hospital network via stretcher or wheelchair, to and from patient care and treatment areas in a safe and efficient manner Transporters will assist with patient's positioning and mobility A transporter must be able to communicate well with the patient to assure a positive experience The transporter will perform all other duties as assigned running errands, linen exchange, and the cleaning of equipment The transporter plays a key role in patient care and patient safety: Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas, medical errors, etc. At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
