Summary:
The transporter safely transports patients of all ages throughout the facility at the direction of the Patient Placement Coordinator (PPC) or Patient Placement Nurse (PPN).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrates the ability to make decisions appropriate to job responsibilities in a timely manner. Transports patients to ancillary departments or units as indicated in a safe and expeditious manner. Responds to patient care requests in a timely manner and/or notifies the charge nurse to follow-up. Informs PPC or PPN of patient/family concerns and any issues which need attention. Follow and enforce all hospital policies, including Infection Control and Safety Procedures. Ensures stretchers have a full tank of oxygen located on them for transport Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Must obtain BLS certification within one (1) year of hire and maintain.
