variable Position Summary The Patient Transporter is an incredible opportunity for those looking to expand their role in health care and service to others. This dynamic position provides professional and exceptional care through safe and timely transport of patients, supplies, oxygen, beds and equipment throughout the MultiCare facility. As a Transporter at MultiCare, you will collaborate with the entire nursing staff, hone your decision-making capacities, and enjoy daily variety and problem-solving opportunities. Responsibilities You will provide safe and timely transport of patients, beds, oxygen, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcher You will respond to STAR codes by transporting patient lift equipment and assisting nursing staff, as needed You will provide assistance to units by cleaning equipment and stocking supplies Partner with a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making capacities You will effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to your work duties Requirements High school graduate or equivalent preferred Current BLS Certification Successful completion of in-house training program on patient lift and mobility within 6 months of placement in job One (1) year of previous transport or related healthcare experience preferred May require certifications based on hospital needs About Deaconess Hospital Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is the only hospital in the area with national accreditation in bariatric surgery. Deaconess provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic and emergency services.
