Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Transportation Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in transporting patients safely and efficiently within hospital facilities and to external appointments. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will ensure smooth patient movement, contributing to the overall quality of patient care and hospital operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where compassion, safety, and teamwork are at the forefront. Responsibilities Assist with patient care responsibilities, including monitoring and engaging with patients, providing companionship, and supporting safe patient transfers and lifting while ensuring comfort and well-being. Safely transport patients between hospital departments, clinics, and external locations while adhering to hospital safety protocols. Assist patients with mobility needs, including those requiring manual handling or special precautions such as isolation measures. Follow all patient safety procedures during transport, including proper use of safety equipment and safe lifting practices. Support staff by providing reliable patient transport for medical procedures, tests, or discharge processes. Maintain clear communication with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals regarding patient status and transport needs. Ensure proper documentation of patient transfers and transport activities in accordance with hospital policies. Adhere to infection control standards, including isolation precautions, to prevent cross-contamination during patient movement. Skills Proven experience in home and community care environments or hospital settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient transport techniques and critical care transport experience is an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Familiarity with basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire. Understanding of hospital patient safety measures and infection control protocols, including isolation precautions. Strong manual handling skills with a focus on patient comfort and safety during transfers. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with healthcare teams and patients. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
