RESPONSIBILITIES OF A GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

Tuesdays and Thursday from 9:15-10:15 am and Monday, Wednesday and Fridays between 4:00-6:00pm Motivate and lead class participants through fun, enjoyable yoga classes. Create positive lasting memories for each participant, each day. This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

: 18 years of age or older.

Required Certifications:

current state approved First Aid and CPR/AED, current, National Certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in-group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise Certification. Minimum 1 year of experience teaching group fitness classes preferred. Current "specialty class" certifications as required: such as MOSSA, Silver Sneakers, Zumba, Mat Pilates, etc. Demonstrated ability to teach group exercise in a proficient manner. Ability to instruct and observe participants using proper exercise techniques. Ability to motivate others in the areas of self-awareness and self-confidence. Possesses mature judgment and sound decision-making. Demonstrated customer service and communication skills. Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency Must have solid fitness industry knowledge.
