RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PERSONAL TRAINER
Motivate and lead members through enjoyable exercise programs developed for their needs Help members to set and reach their fitness goals through positive interactions, each session This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS TO BE A PERSONAL TRAINER
18 years of age or older. Current state approved first-aid certification. Current CPR. Nationally Recognized Certified Personal Trainer Certification or YMCA Strength and Conditioning Certification. Minimum two years' experience in health/fitness field. Knowledge and experience of health/fitness including demonstrated ability to teach and train different levels and abilities of fitness. Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, peers, volunteers, and supervisor. Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA Health/Fitness Programs. Ability to motivate and coach others. Knowledge of staff/volunteer supervision and program management preferred.
