Job Description

Comprehensively Trained Pilates Instructor — Part-Time (1-2 Positions) Core Pilates Prescott • Prescott, AZ Core Pilates Prescott is a boutique classical Pilates studio in Prescott, AZ offering privates, duets, and small-group apparatus classes using Reformers, Towers, and Wunda Chairs (capped at 6 students). As the studio owner, Nicole Baltes is a highly involved, active instructor with 17 years of teaching experience. Though rooted in classical Pilates — with classical equipment — we are not classical sticklers and don't believe in dogma. We value thoughtful, intentional teaching over rigidity, genuine connections with our clients, and believe the work should always serve the client. We are looking for 1-2 skilled, passionate, comprehensively trained instructors to join our team. This is a studio where teaching actually matters. Our clients learn their own bodies. Our instructors are expected to see, think, and coach — not just cue. The Role Starting at 5-20 hours per week with potential to grow. Responsibilities include teaching private sessions, duet sessions, and small-group classes. Our group classes are capped at 6 and we utilize the Reformers, Towers and Wunda chairs (not necessarily all in the same class). The incoming instructor will take over some existing clients from day one, as well as help develop and grow our group class program and availability for new private clients. Occasional subbing may be requested. Scheduling is flexible — we work with your availability. This is a W-2 employee position. Job Responsibilities Teach private, duet, and small-group apparatus classes Build genuine, meaningful connections with clients — getting to know them, their bodies, their goals, and their history Take over and build relationships with an existing client base from day one Help develop and grow our small-group class program Assess clients individually and deliver thoughtful, personalized instruction — using your training, skills, and intuition to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and help clients move through areas where they may be stuck Maintain accurate and up-to-date client notes in the studio management system — documenting progress, modifications, and focus areas to ensure continuity of care across sessions and instructors Maintain a safe, clean, and organized studio environment Communicate openly and proactively with the studio owner and fellow instructor(s) Occasionally sub for other instructors when needed Represent Core Pilates Prescott with professionalism, warmth, and integrity at all times Continue developing as a teacher — staying curious, seeking feedback, and growing in the work The Ideal Candidate You are fun, warm, and encouraging — someone clients genuinely look forward to seeing. You are passionate about Pilates and about teaching, love to keep learning, and bring that curiosity into your teaching every day. You lead with high integrity, communicate openly and honestly, and are someone your colleagues and clients can always count on. Comprehensive training is a must — we value the quality and depth of your training over the name of your program; boutique certifications are absolutely welcome Classical training strongly preferred; contemporary instructors considered if genuinely open to working in the classical method 3+ years of teaching experience preferred — though truly exceptional instructors with less experience are encouraged to apply Exceptional observational and coaching skills — able to use their training, skills, and intuition to troubleshoot and help clients work through areas where they may be stuck; someone who thinks creatively and purposefully within the classical system rather than simply going through the motions Skilled in both private and group settings Always learning — hungry to grow, open to feedback, excited to keep developing as a teacher A true team player — this studio runs on trust and collaboration; you show up for your colleagues and contribute to something bigger than your own schedule What You'll Find Here A studio rooted in classical Pilates with room for purposeful, intentional creativity — we follow the work and think carefully about how to apply it to each individual client An owner with 17 years of teaching experience (Romana lineage) who is invested in your development A warm, encouraging, collaborative team culture — we support each other here A small, loyal, motivated client base — not a revolving door of drop-ins Clear expectations, open communication, and zero tolerance for drama This is a part-time role and we're happy to keep it that way — but for the right person, there is also opportunity to grow toward a fuller schedule over time About Core Pilates Prescott Founded and led by Nicole Baltes, Core Pilates Prescott has served the Prescott community for 6 years as a dedicated classical Pilates studio. We offer private and duet sessions on extensive classical apparatus, private Gyrotonic sessions, and small-group classes. We pride ourselves on building genuine, lasting connections with our clients — intelligent, motivated adults, many 50+ — who are here to move well, not just move more. Compensation commensurate with experience. W-2 employee position. Studio is located in Prescott, AZ. Must be able to work in person.
