Job Description

Laguna Creek Sports Club, a location of Spare Time Sports Clubs, is looking to hire Group Exercise instructors!! Especially for Dance , Strength Classes, Aquafit and Cycle. Over 50 years ago, Spare Time Sports Clubs created the area's first state-of-the-art sports club. Today, with clubs in 7 different communities throughout Northern California, we continue to redefine the health and fitness industry. Our goal is to make each visit to the club "the best part of your day!" From the first moment you're greeted with smiles by our friendly staff, participate in a great workout or sport with some friends, relax and socialize afterward, we trust that you will walk out of the club feeling better than when you walked in! General Duties Develop safe, professional and comprehensive group exercise classes to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals. Continually refresh exercises, choreography and music to keep classes relevant and interesting. Monitor and instruct clients during group exercise classes on the safe and effective use of the equipment. Promote group exercise programs to members. Clean and organize the group exercise studio after each class. Remain current on certificates and new trends in the industry. Attentively listen to members, answer questions and engage in conversation before and after classes. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification or 500+ hour.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of group fitness experience preferred.
Life Safety:
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships and the value of fitness.
Physical Requirements Lifting:
Must be able to safely lift and move up to 25 lbs (weights, kettlebells, equipment) frequently throughout a shift.
Mobility:
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and demonstrate complex physical movements for the duration of a shift.
Environment:
Must be comfortable working in a loud, high-energy environment. Compensation depends on certification and experience.
