Job Description

Personal Trainer for Adult Over 40 THRIVE Training Irvine, CA Job Details Part-time $22 - $29 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Continuing education credits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee discount Gym membership Professional development assistance Opportunities for advancement Flexible schedule Qualifications Certified Personal Trainer CPR Certification Customer communication Working with adult populations Adult education AED Certification Full Job Description Hi! I'm Oliver. I run one of the coolest gyms to work at in Orange County—possibly the country. ☺ We help busy adults (mostly 40+) get strong, confident, and injury-resilient in a supportive, drama-free environment. As other gyms slow down, we're growing—and we need another great coach. Why this role rocks Real impact, daily. Our members stick with us for years. You'll actually see your coaching change lives—week after week. No floor sales. You coach. We handle the selling. Ongoing learning. We bring in top trainers/educators and share the good stuff so you keep leveling up. Team you'll love. Work alongside skilled, caring coaches who high-five and banter with each other. Growth paths. Leadership tracks, speaking opportunities, and business projects are all on the table.
Hint:
we're developing future facility leaders. What you'll do Coach small-group strength sessions and 1:1's with clear cues, progressions, and a smile. Train everyday adults—many returning after injuries, layoffs, or gym anxiety—safely and effectively. Write/adjust programs, demo movements, and keep sessions on time and upbeat. Communicate with empathy. Our members joke that "the front door is the heaviest weight." You'll help them move it. Hold high standards for safety, cleanliness, and culture. Zero drama. 100% support.
Internship:
we hold a 3-5 week internship for all trained so they can understand who we train and what systems we use. What you bring Positive energy (non-negotiable). People skills. You genuinely like humans and it shows. Work ethic. On time, prepared, and proactive. Growth mindset. Hungry to learn and get better every day. Credentials. Current Personal Trainer certification (NASM/NSCA/ACE/ACSM or similar). CPR/AED preferred. Experience. 3+ years coaching (small-group experience and/or working with adults 40+ is a big plus).
