Speed & Strength Coach (SSC) — Part-Time Northridge, CA | San Fernando Valley Why D1 Training Northridge? Role Overview The Speed and Strength Coach (SSC) is responsible for delivering the BEST workout experience in the industry to our clients. The Coach is the front line customer experience at D1. Coaches demonstrate a passion for training athletes of all ages from 7 years old all the way to the adult athlete. Coaches lead training in D1 membership workouts, D1-on-1, small group personal training, and team training. Coaches are Level 1 Certified the D1 Way and maintain a high level of coaching adhering to the latest brand standards and quality control measures. D1 Coaches assist in conducting assessments and goal setting during the FTA process ensuring athletes are prescribed, motivated, and committed to the proper program to reach their goals. Responsibilities Coach the core classes, personal training, camps, team training, and additional offerings. Conduct and lead all workouts the D1 Way at a high level. This requires an infectious energy with vocal verbal coaching, understanding/enforcing coaching cues, organization of the group sessions, and tempo and transition of all the groups. Oversee the training spaces maintenance and cleaning. Maintain equipment, cleaning, and organization of all training areas. Attend and participate in marketing events such as competitions, combines, etc. Conduct First Training Assessments (FTA) — assess, prescribe, motivate, and commit athletes to the right program for their goals. Deliver speed development, strength and conditioning, functional movement, and sports performance programming across all age groups. What We're Looking For Certified personal trainer or strength & conditioning coach (NSCA-CSCS, NASM-CPT, ACE, ISSA, or equivalent preferred) CPR/AED certified (or willingness to obtain prior to start) Experience training youth athletes, adult athletes, or both — passion for athlete development at all levels High-energy, vocal coaching presence — ability to lead groups with enthusiasm, accountability, and precision Strong understanding of periodization, movement screening, and athletic performance principles Athlete-first mindset with a community-driven, accountability-based coaching philosophy D1 Level 1 Certification (or willingness to complete upon hire) Compensation & Opportunities Group class rate: $21
