We are a small business run out of the San Francisco East Bay and are looking for motivated individuals to join our team of instructors. Shine Bright Fitness was founded in August 2021 to help bring the benefits of an active lifestyle to people who struggle to meet their daily exercise needs. Our program is designed to help our clients improve their posture, gain strength and coordination, and to help prevent injuries that can occur from everyday life. Our Adaptive Fitness Program provides specific exercises and activities that are designed to meet the physical and behavioral goals and needs of each of our clients. Incorporating aspects of Corrective Exercise and Functional Fitness, all exercises will be focused in the areas of muscular strength training, balance and coordination, fine and gross motor development, aerobic and anaerobic cardio, and more. We strive to provide our clients with the skills to perform everyday activities injury free so they can live happy, healthy, and independent lives. We are currently looking for fitness trainers to work with people ages 8 and up with physical and neurological disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and OCD. Trainers will work directly with clients by teaching them how to perform exercises correctly and safely. An ideal candidate will motivate clients in a positive and uplifting way to help them realize their potential. Essential duties include tracking client progress to monitor their improvements in all areas and communicating clearly how to perform exercises safely. Applicants must have the ability to adapt exercises to individual needs and progress or regress workouts for varying fitness levels, maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants, and create workouts to meet client health and fitness goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fitness Instructors duties include but are not limited to the following: Motivate individuals in a positive and uplifting way during exercise activities. Work with people of all ages and skill levels including those with disabilities. Provide a safe and fun environment for participants. Ensure the exercise space is clean and free of health and safety hazards. Instruct participants on effective workout methods, explain proper techniques, and demonstrate exercises. Communicate instructions simply and clearly. Maintain good public and customer relations. Check clients in for each completed session. Maintain records of participation and track each session's progress.
Job Requirements:
Fitness related Degree or Certification from an accredited organization Experience working with youth sports or people with disabilities Highschool Diploma or GED CPR certification
Extra Qualifications:
Knowledge of how to structure personal and small group fitness classes Prior experience working as a fitness instructor or sports coach Experience working with people with special needs or disabilities Must have availablity on Saturdays and between 2-7pm on weekdays
