Fitness Instructor 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 21100 Fountain Garden Way, Land O' Lakes, FL 34637 $15 an hour - Part-time Signature One 3 reviews $15 an hour - Part-time Job Summary The Part-Time Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading engaging, safe, and inclusive group fitness classes for residents within our community amenity center. This position plays an important role in promoting health, wellness, and community engagement by offering a variety of classes designed for participants of all fitness levels. The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, and passionate about creating a positive and welcoming fitness experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead a variety of group fitness classes such as yoga, low- and high-impact aerobics, water aerobics, stretching, and beginner boot camp-style workouts.
  • Modify exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels, abilities, and participant needs.
  • Ensure participant safety by demonstrating proper exercise techniques and monitoring class activities.
  • Create a fun, motivating, and inclusive environment that encourages resident participation.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and customer-focused attitude while representing the community.
  • Assist with promoting wellness programs and special fitness events.
  • Inspect fitness equipment before classes and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain current certifications and comply with all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Support community events and activities as assigned.
  • Support management with special projects and community activities. Qualifications
  • Current certification in Yoga Instruction, Group Fitness Instruction, and/or Personal Training from a nationally recognized organization (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, Yoga Alliance, or equivalent).
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  • Previous experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.
  • Experience teaching multiple class formats, including water aerobics, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for health and wellness.
  • Ability to motivate and engage participants of diverse ages and fitness levels. Work Environment
  • Part-time position with flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, and weekends based on resident demand.
  • Work is performed indoors at the community fitness center and outdoors at the resort-style pool and other amenity areas.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, demonstrating exercises, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working in varying weather conditions when conducting outdoor classes.
