Job Description
Our Downtown Boise YMCA is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor for Barre to join the team! This instructor is responsible for creating a safe, friendly, and helpful atmosphere for members participating in group exercise classes. The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.
Conduct class in a quality, fun, and safe manner that results in increased attendance. Follow fitness trends and utilize prescribed formats when applicable.
Actively identify participants who need additional support, such as new members, health seekers, and participants with diverse abilities.
Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants. Provide excellent delivery of land group exercise instruction to all members.
Monitor class attendance for data tracking.
Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
First Aid. Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day completion period, for instructors teaching CrossFit.
Schedule:
This is a part time position, teaching 1x per week, with the opportunity to sub and help fill in for other instructors.Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Knowledge in group exercise instruction preferred.Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
Required Certifications:
Base Certification required - Group Exercise National Certification or Foundations of Group Exercise at theY.CPR/AED.
