We're hiring an Aquatic Fitness Instructor to lead energizing water-based group fitness classes on a consistent schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-10:00 a.m. Plus, we can guarantee up to 10 hours of classes per week!POSITION SUMMARY
The Aquatic Fitness Instructor is responsible for designing and leading safe, effective, and engaging water-based fitness classes at the B.R. Ryall YMCA. Classes may include shallow water, deep water and aqua cardio formats. YMCA water fitness programs utilize the natural resistance and buoyancy of water to support cardiovascular health, muscular strength, and overall well-being. These programs are accessible to participants of all fitness levels, including non-swimmers, and provide a low-impact exercise option that reduces stress on joints while promoting improved health, reduced stress and increased confidence.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, develop, and instruct a variety of aquatic fitness classes, including shallow water, deep water and cardio-based formats. Modify exercises to accommodate participants of varying abilities, including active older adults and those with health considerations. Ensure participant safety by maintaining constant awareness of pool conditions and participant well-being. Know, review and respond to all emergency procedures in accordance with YMCA policies; complete incident reports as required. Build positive relationships with members and create a welcoming, inclusive class environment. Enforce all pool and aquatic area policies, rules and safety guidelines. Inspect and set up equipment before and after classes to ensure safe and effective use. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education sessions.YMCA CORE VALUES

Minimum age of 21. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (Professional Rescuer level preferred). Current or in-progress Aquatic Fitness Certification (e.g., YMCA, Aquatic Exercise Association, or equivalent). Current YMCA Lifeguarding or American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification preferred. Ability to maintain required certifications and physical readiness.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to demonstrate exercises in shallow and deep water environments. Ability to verbally communicate clearly and project voice in a pool environment. Ability to work in a chlorinated, high-humidity environment. Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 80°F. Ability to perform physical activity for extended periods, including in-water instruction.Pay:
