Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Pilates Reformer Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging reformer-based Pilates sessions that support members in improving strength, flexibility, posture, and overall wellness. This role aligns with the YMCA's mission to promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Lead group and/or private Pilates Reformer sessions for members of varying fitness levels 2. Provide safe instruction, proper technique guidance, and appropriate modifications 3. Design progressive, goal-oriented workouts tailored to participant needs 4. Conduct initial assessments and track participant progress 5. Ensure proper setup, cleaning, and maintenance of reformer equipment 6. Build positive relationships with members and foster a supportive community 7. Promote Pilates programs, personal training, and other YMCA wellness offerings 8. Maintain accurate attendance and program records 9. Asks and answers questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being. 10. Celebrates achievement of program participants related to program or personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being. 11. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Nationally recognized Pilates Reformer certification (e.g., Balanced Body, STOTT, Peak Pilates) 2. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days) 3. Prior experience teaching Pilates Reformer classes (preferred) 4. Strong knowledge of anatomy, movement, and injury prevention 5. Completed Praesidium Child Abuse Prevention trainings and Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens training.
