Job Description

Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Coach (Trauma-Informed, Women's Health Focus) Empowered RX Overview Empowered RX is seeking a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Coach to join our growing team. This role is designed for a coach who understands that training is not just about performance, but about physiology, nervous system regulation, and long-term health. Our clients are primarily women navigating recovery from chronic dieting, disordered eating patterns, burnout, and overtraining. Many are highly driven, consistent, and knowledgeable, but remain stuck in cycles of control, fatigue, and physical symptoms that traditional fitness approaches fail to address. We are looking for a coach who can meet that level of complexity. In this role, you will deliver both one-to-one training sessions and group classes that prioritize safety, progression, and sustainability. You will be responsible for creating an environment where clients feel supported while also being appropriately challenged based on their individual capacity. You will begin by coaching within the Empowered RX programming framework for both personal training sessions and group classes. This ensures consistency in client experience, safety, and alignment with our methodology. As you demonstrate strong coaching ability, clinical reasoning, and alignment with our approach, there is opportunity for increased autonomy, including contributing to program design, leading specialty offerings, and expanding into additional roles within the company. This is a paid position with opportunity for growth into additional coaching hours and expanded responsibilities within Empowered RX. Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized training sessions using Empowered RX programming, tailored to each client's goals, injury history, recovery status, and nervous system capacity
  • Lead structured group strength classes that are intentional, well-programmed, and appropriate for a range of fitness and recovery levels
  • Coach proper movement mechanics, tempo, and loading strategies with a strong emphasis on safety and long-term progression
  • Apply coaching judgment within sessions while maintaining consistency with the Empowered RX methodology
  • Recognize signs of overtraining, under-recovery, and nervous system dysregulation, and adjust sessions accordingly
  • Create a training environment that is grounded, professional, and supportive without relying on intensity or pressure-based coaching
  • Communicate effectively with the Empowered RX team to ensure continuity of care, especially for clients working alongside dietitians or therapists
  • Maintain organization of the training space and uphold standards for safety and professionalism
  • Contribute to program development and expanded coaching responsibilities as trust and experience within the role grow
  • Represent the Empowered RX approach with integrity in all client interactions Qualifications
  • Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ACSM, or equivalent required)
  • Experience coaching strength training in both individual and group settings
  • Strong understanding of exercise physiology, movement mechanics, and progressive overload
  • Ability to coach a range of clients, including those returning from injury, burnout, or periods of under-eating
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients while maintaining clear professional boundaries
  • Alignment with a non-diet, recovery-informed approach to fitness Preferred (but not required)
  • Experience working with clients recovering from disordered eating or RED-S
  • Background in trauma-informed coaching, nervous system regulation, or women's health
  • Group fitness instruction experience in strength-based formats
  • Interest in long-term client development rather than short-term transformation models Who This Role Is For This position is best suited for a coach who is:
  • Thoughtful and observant, not reactive or intensity-driven
  • Comfortable working with nuance and complexity in client behavior and physiology
  • Open to learning and working within an established coaching framework before expanding into independent program design

  • Able to hold professional boundaries while still creating a supportive client experience Who This Role Is Not For
  • Coaches who rely on high-intensity, push-through coaching styles
  • Coaches primarily focused on weight loss or aesthetic outcomes
  • Individuals unwilling to follow an established programming structure
  • Individuals without formal training or certification in fitness Why Empowered RX At Empowered RX, we are redefining what strength training looks like for women.
