In person Most personal training jobs leave you alone and tell you to "go find clients." That is not what we are building. At Anytime Fitness Clinton Township, we are looking for a Personal Trainer who wants structure, coaching, accountability, and a real chance to build a career in fitness. This is a W-2 employee position , not a 1099 independent contractor role. That means scheduled hours, leadership support, systems, expectations, and the ability to grow inside a team that is serious about member results and trainer development. We want someone who can coach people, build relationships, communicate with confidence, follow up, sell training, and help create energy inside the club. If you are just looking for a gym to train a couple clients on the side, this probably is not the right fit. If you want to become a better trainer, build a real book of business, learn how to sell your value, and grow inside a fitness company, we should talk. What Makes This Opportunity Different We are not looking for trainers who just wait for clients to be handed to them. We are looking for trainers who want to learn how to: Build a personal training book Conduct fitness assessments and consultations Sell training without being pushy Create trust with members Get referrals Keep clients long-term Work the floor with confidence Help members feel comfortable, capable, and motivated Become a bigger part of the club's growth You will have manager support, training systems, and a clear expectation of what winning looks like. The right person will not just train sessions. The right person will help drive culture, retention, results, and revenue. Who We Are Looking For We want someone who is: Hungry to grow in the fitness industry Coachable and willing to learn our systems Reliable with scheduled hours Strong with people and comfortable starting conversations Confident enough to talk about personal training Professional, energetic, and positive Able to follow up with members and prospects Comfortable being held accountable to goals Passionate about helping people change their lives Interested in building a long-term career, not just working random sessions You do not need to be perfect. You do need to care, communicate, show up, take coaching, and want to win. Responsibilities As an Anytime Fitness Personal Trainer, you will: Deliver a high-level member experience every day Conduct fitness consultations, goal-setting sessions, and assessments Build safe, effective, customized training programs Train clients in 1-on-1 and small-group settings Promote and sell personal training programs and services Work the fitness floor and build relationships with members Follow up with new members, leads, inactive members, and current clients Help members feel confident, competent, and connected Track client progress and document programming Support challenges, events, and member engagement initiatives Keep training areas clean, organized, and professional Attend required meetings, coaching sessions, and role training Stay current on certifications, education, and fitness trends What We Provide Hourly pay Training commission Bonus opportunities Manager support to help you build your book Fitness assessment systems Personal training sales systems Ongoing coaching and education Access to Anytime Fitness facilities A team environment built around accountability and growth Opportunity to grow into higher-level training, lead trainer, or fitness leadership roles We are building trainers, not just hiring them. Qualifications Personal Training Certification preferred Must be willing to obtain a nationally recognized certification within 90 days if not currently certified CPR/AED certification preferred or must obtain within 90 days High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience Strong communication skills Comfortable talking to members and prospects Comfortable with sales, follow-up, and personal training conversations Fitness, coaching, athletics, sales, or customer service experience preferred Reliable transportation Ability to work scheduled shifts, including some evenings and weekends as needed Schedule We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities.
Typical staffing hours may include:
Monday-Thursday:
9:00 AM-7:00
PM Friday:
10:00 AM-3:00 PM Some weekend availability as needed Schedule may vary based on club needs, training appointments, member demand, and performance.
This Role Is A Strong Fit If You Are Thinking:
"I want to become a serious trainer." "I want to build a real book of clients." "I want to learn how to sell personal training the right way." "I want structure, coaching, and accountability." "I want to be around members, not hide behind a desk." "I want to grow in fitness long-term."
This Role Is NOT A Fit If You:
Do not want to sell Do not want to follow up Do not want to work scheduled hours Do not want coaching Only want to train clients who are already handed to you Avoid conversations with members Are uncomfortable being measured by results We are looking for people who want to be developed, challenged, and held to a higher standard. How To Apply Please apply with your resume and answer the following: Do you currently have a personal training certification? What is your fitness, coaching, athletics, or training background? Are you comfortable promoting and selling personal training? What days and times are you available to work? Why do you want to become a trainer at Anytime Fitness? What makes you coachable? We are not looking for average. We are looking for someone who wants to grow, produce, and help members change their lives.
