POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fitness Floor Attendant shall be responsible for the implementation and administration of member safety on the wellness floor, instructing members on proper use of the fitness equipment, and keeping all the cardio and fitness equipment clean and safe.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Must have the physical endurance to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Be present on the fitness floor to talk with and assist members.
  • Continually monitor the cardio area, upper deck, stretch area, free weight room, and Get Started room for member service and safety.
  • Be alert to new and existing members' exercise techniques and assist or correct as needed.
  • Follow the deep-cleaning schedule.
  • Follow and sign off on the daily cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of machines and equipment.
  • Keep equipment organized in the Stretch Room, Upper Deck, and Free Weight Room.
  • Track usage numbers; members must be accounted for on the fitness floor at the top of the hour and at 15 minutes past the hour in the Free Weight and Get Started Rooms.
  • Complete walkthroughs of the Free Weight Room, Get Started Room, Cardio Area, Fitness Floor, Upper Deck, Landing above Flanagan Gym, and Track every 20 minutes.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of all cardio and fitness equipment.
  • Assist and encourage new and existing members through orientations of cardio and strength equipment.
  • Always carry the walkie-talkie while on shift.
  • Dress in appropriate work attire as outlined in the Employee Dress Code, always wearing a nametag, and perform all duties in a safe and conscientious manner.
  • Adheres to all safe practices by following consumer‑boundary policies, adhering to procedures for supervising high‑risk activities, promptly reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior or policy violations while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Complete all required annual and bi-annual training requirements for child abuse prevention, anti-harassment, and updated policies.
  • Keep all required certifications current.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing 25-50 lbs (e.g., dumbbells, plates mats, steps, resistance equipment).
  • Stand, walk, or move continuously for extended periods of time while monitoring all fitness areas, up and downstairs.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper exercise form with full range of motion for instructional purposes.
