Part-Time•-Tues/Thurs, 9:30-11:30 am Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and community-focused Group Fitness Instructor to lead our Rock Steady Boxing program for individuals living with Parkinson's disease. This role is ideal for a fitness professional who is passionate about inclusive wellness programming and creating meaningful connections. The instructor will lead safe, engaging, non-contact boxing-based fitness classes designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and overall quality of life for participants. Essential Responsibilities Lead Rock Steady Boxing classes in accordance with program standards and JCC wellness policies Provide modifications and individualized support for participants with varying fitness and mobility levels Foster a welcoming, encouraging, and respectful class atmosphere that reflects a commitment to community and inclusion Ensure participant safety through assessments, proper instruction, supervision, and exercise progressions Build positive relationships with participants, caregivers, and members Set up and maintain fitness equipment before and after classes Track attendance and communicate participant concerns or progress with wellness staff as appropriate Support special wellness events, health initiatives, and community programming when needed Maintain current CPR/AED and fitness certifications Qualifications Nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Training certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFAA, etc.) Current CPR/AED certification required Experience teaching group fitness classes preferred Experience working with older adults or special populations strongly preferred Knowledge of Parkinson's disease fitness considerations a plus Boxing, functional training, or rehabilitation fitness experience is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to create an inclusive and motivating environment for diverse populations Physical Requirements Ability to actively lead and demonstrate exercises during class sessions Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move continuously during instruction Ability to lift and move fitness equipment up to 25 pounds At the JCC, we believe wellness is about more than fitness — it's about connection, support, and community. Pay:
$25.00•$30.00 per hour
