Fitness Instructor (Contractor) Parker Life - 3.3 Highland Park, NJ Job Details Part-time | Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Exercise safety education Certified Personal Trainer Program design Interpersonal skills Client rapport building Yoga Safety-focused fitness instruction Wellness activities for care recipients Body mechanics Full Job Description About the Role Parker Health Group is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and reliable Fitness Instructor to support our Health & Wellness programming for older adults. This position focuses on promoting healthy aging, physical activity, independence, and overall well-being through engaging group exercise classes and wellness programming. Opportunities may be available across multiple Parker locations and community-based settings. Key Responsibilities Lead safe, engaging, and effective group exercise classes for older adults Modify exercises to meet varying fitness levels and abilities Create a welcoming, supportive, and person-centered environment Monitor participant safety and provide appropriate instruction and encouragement Maintain attendance records and communicate participant concerns as needed Assist with wellness events, health fairs, educational programs, and special initiatives Collaborate with the Health & Wellness team to support program goals and participant engagement Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience leading group fitness classes, personal training sessions, wellness programs, or recreational activities, with a passion for motivating and inspiring others. Strong understanding of exercise principles, body mechanics, functional movement, and safe program design. Personal Training Certification, Group Fitness Certification, or related Health & Wellness certifications preferred. Certifications in disciplines such as Senior Fitness, Arthritis Fitness, Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Balance & Fall Prevention, SilverSneakers, EnhanceFitness, Aquatics, or other specialty fitness programs are highly desirable. Experience working with older adults, including individuals with varying physical abilities, chronic conditions, or cognitive impairments preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships and create a welcoming, supportive environment. Ability to modify exercises to accommodate different fitness levels while maintaining participant safety and engagement. Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating as part of a larger Health & Wellness team. Passion for promoting healthy aging, wellness, independence, and quality of life through movement and meaningful engagement.
Work Schedule:
Hours of operation 7 am-5 pm Flexible scheduling based on program needs Opener & Closer needs Some evening or weekend opportunities may be available Contract hours vary based on class schedule and programming needs
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
