Job Description

Stafford by the Bay is seeking an experienced Fitness Instructor to join our team! Stafford by the Bay is a Springpoint Senior Living Affordable Housing Community located in Manahawkin, NJ. We are in search of a part time fitness instructor to promote health and wellness in our HUD affordable housing communities. At Springpoint, our Fitness Instructors are responsible for providing a high level of customer service while supervising and leading any related community fitness, group classes, and wellness programs.
Responsibilities:
Train, teach, lead and/or instruct residents in a variety of exercise classes, cognitive exercises, and health/wellness education, individually or in group exercise classes. Maintain a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures concerning available data collection/technology platforms and communication/scheduling tools as they pertain to any/all LivWell programs. Maintain records of the residents' attendance/level of engagement in, any/all LivWell programming. Complete all assignments during shift which may include set up/break down of community room for exercise classes as well as cleaning and maintaining any equipment used. Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings and LivWell training sessions. Keep current all required Certifications, Fitness and Wellness CEU's, including training offered through the LivWell program. Work in concert with community individuals, agencies, and organizations to promote an understanding of the community, its mission, vision, and values.
Education and Experience:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent required Degree from college/University and/or nationally recognized Certification in Health, Fitness or Wellness-related field Experience working in an active older adult retirement community, physical therapy department and/or medical or hospital-cased fitness program preferred CPR Certified or eligible to be CPR certified within first 30 days of employment.
