POSITION SUMMARY
The YMCA is seeking a motivated and community-driven Personal Trainer to support our mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role provides safe, effective, and personalized fitness programs to help members achieve their health and wellness goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nationally recognized personal training certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, etc.)
  • CPR/AED certification required
  • Strong communication and motivational skills
  • Passion for health, wellness, and community impact
  • Prior training experience preferred.
  • Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED (within 90 days of hire).
  • You must stay current with all certifications.
The YMCA will reimburse up to $50 every year for continuing education after it is approved by the director. Unused training funds do not carry over.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Specific Functions
  • Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized exercise programs
  • Provide one-on-one and small group training sessions
  • Educate members on proper exercise techniques and healthy lifestyles
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants
  • Build positive relationships and encourage member engagement
  • Maintain accurate client records and track progress General Functions
  • Assists with functions and events as needed
  • Attends required meetings, conferences, or training as deemed necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
  • Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with the YMCA.
  • Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergencies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required for essential duties; reasonable accommodations will be considered under the Americans with Disabilities Act; this list is not all-inclusive and may be supplemented as necessary.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Flexibility to respond to facility emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel required between YMCA facilities.

Pay:
