About Us Maspeth Martial Arts has been a cornerstone of the Maspeth, Queens community since 2012. We are a realistic, practical self-defense school — not a traditional dojo. Our kids program is built on point-to-light-contact kickboxing and jiu-jitsu fundamentals. We teach kids how to actually defend themselves, build real coordination, and develop confidence through skills that work. No forms. No kata. No choreographed routines. The Role We're hiring a Kids Martial Arts Instructor (ages 4-12) to lead structured group classes focused on: Light-to-Semi-contact kickboxing — footwork, basic strikes, defense, controlled partner drills, light sparring Kids jiu-jitsu fundamentals — positions, escapes, basic submissions, live rolling at an age-appropriate level Practical self-defense scenarios appropriate to each age group Conditioning, coordination, and confidence-building games that keep kids engaged You're a great fit if you have: A black belt or advanced rank in any striking or grappling art — Taekwondo, Karate, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, BJJ, Judo. Prior experience teaching or coaching kids in a structured group setting Comfort and skill in both striking and grappling (or strong in one and coachable in the other) A philosophy aligned with practical, functional martial arts — not traditional forms-based instruction Strong classroom management — you can lead 15 energetic kids and keep the class moving safely A warm, energetic, patient personality that parents trust and kids respect Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism Bilingual English/Spanish is a major plus (much of our community is Spanish-speaking) If you are 18+ you are welcome to apply.
