Group Stretch Instructor StretchLab OKC Norman, OK Job Details Part-time $20 - $30 an hour 4 days ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications CPR Certification Anatomy knowledge Teamwork CPR High school diploma or GED Instructor-led training (training delivery method) AED Certification Group fitness Full Job Description Position Overview StretchLab is seeking a motivated, professional, and client-focused Group Stretch Instructor to lead small-group stretch, mobility, activation, and recovery classes. This role is ideal for someone with experience in group fitness, yoga, Pilates, mobility, personal training, athletic training, assisted stretching, or movement coaching. The Group Stretch Instructor will deliver a premium class experience that helps clients improve flexibility, mobility, posture, recovery, body awareness, and confidence in movement. Group classes are a new offering for our studio, so this role requires an experienced group fitness instructor who knows how to build excitement, generate participation, and create momentum around a new program. The right candidate will not only lead a strong class, but also help establish group training as an engaging and valuable part of the StretchLab experience. Our group class offerings include beginner and intermediate stretch-based sessions such as Stretch 101, Rise, Shine and Stretch, Core Activation, Hip Opener, Lower Body Mobility, Upper Body Restore, Stretch and De-Stress, Family Stretch Time, Golfers Workshop, Runner's Workshop, and Stretch for Longevity. The right candidate can confidently lead a room, provide clear instruction, offer modifications, and create a welcoming environment for clients of varying ages, fitness levels, and mobility needs. Responsibilities Lead structured group stretch, activation, mobility, and recovery classes Deliver safe, clear, and engaging instruction for beginner and intermediate-level clients Demonstrate movements and provide verbal cueing throughout each class Offer appropriate modifications based on client age, ability, comfort level, and mobility limitations Create a positive, professional, and encouraging class environment Support clients in improving flexibility, mobility, recovery, posture, and movement quality Help generate enthusiasm, participation, and repeat attendance for a new group class program Contribute ideas to promote classes, build member engagement, and create excitement around the schedule Deliver an experience that encourages clients to return and bring guests Track class attendance accurately Communicate client feedback, concerns, or opportunities to studio leadership Help members feel welcomed, supported, and connected to the StretchLab experience Participate in required training, class preparation, and team communication Support workshops, community events, and special group sessions as needed Represent StretchLab professionally inside and outside the studio Required Skills & Experience Experience leading group fitness, yoga, Pilates, stretch, mobility, recovery, or movement-based classes required Strong understanding of safe movement, flexibility, mobility, and basic anatomy Ability to lead clients of varying ages, fitness levels, and mobility needs Strong communication, coaching, and customer service skills Comfortable instructing, cueing, and demonstrating in front of a group Ability to create a calm, confident, positive, and engaging class environment Ability to build energy, excitement, and participation around a new class offering Professional, dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Passion for helping people move better and feel better Preferred Background Candidates with one or more of the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply: Group Fitness Instructor Yoga Instructor Pilates Instructor Personal Trainer Stretch Practitioner Mobility Coach Athletic Trainer Physical Therapy Aide Massage Therapist Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related background Certifications CPR/AED certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire Nationally accredited fitness certification preferred but not required, such as:
NASM ACE AFAA ACSM
Yoga Alliance Pilates certification Other relevant movement, mobility, or wellness certifications Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and demonstrate movement for extended periods Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs occasionally Ability to physically demonstrate stretching, mobility, and activation exercises Comfortable working in an active studio environment Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required Degree or coursework in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or related field preferred but not required Compensation $25 per class Additional opportunities may be available for workshops, community events, private stretch sessions, or expanded studio responsibilities based on experience, performance, and availability. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is confident, warm, reliable, and passionate about helping people improve the way they move. They can lead a structured class, connect with clients quickly, and create a safe, premium experience for people who may be new to stretching, mobility, or group wellness classes. Because group classes are a new offering, this person must also know how to create energy around the program, drive attendance, and help turn initial curiosity into ongoing engagement. This is not a passive instructor role. It requires someone who is comfortable being visible, building rapport, and helping a new service gain traction. This is a launch-stage role best suited for an experienced group fitness instructor who can lead a great class and help build buzz around a new offering.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
