POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Personal Trainer serves as the cross functional support to the Wellness Team and our members.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is mainly in a gym environment. Position requires physical activity working with members. Minimal desk-sitting and administrative work required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct energizing, fun, safe, and educational one on one interaction. Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Maintain working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information to support members. Demonstrate/coach members on the proper use of all equipment Works to ensure member safety and enjoyment Assist with housekeeping/maintenance of all areas used to ensure cleanliness Conduct individual fitness assessments, design, and implement individual workout programs Excellent human relations and communication skills Keep accurate personal training records. Follow YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Performs other duties as assigned Actively participates and supports the Annual Scholarship Campaign. Performs all other duties as assigned. Ability to communicate effectively Detail oriented Possess strong organizational skills Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work with minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma CPR and First Aid Certification (within 45 days), YUSA Healthy Lifestyle Principles, YUSA Strength and Conditioning (within 60 days) National certification in Personal Training (ACSM, ACE) At least one year of experience as a Personal Trainer, preferred Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
