Job Highlights Supervising Pharmacist for UAB Main Hospital Perioperative Areas, Emergency Department, and Gardendale Freestanding Emergency Department. This position will be primarily day shift and will participate in the Acute Care Decentral Leader On-Call rotation.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Clinical Oversight and Patient Care:
Supervise daily clinical operations to ensure high-quality patient care Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, protocols, and evidence-based practices Participate in clinical practice role
Pharmacist Supervision, Training and Support:
Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to pharmacists Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback, addressing areas for improvement Assist in the hiring, training, and orientation of new clinical pharmacists Coordinate staffing schedules Identify areas for professional development and organize training programs
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and organizational policies Promote a culture of safety by identifying potential risks and implementing risk management strategies
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care Maintain clear and open communication with pharmacists, addressing any issues, concerns, or suggestions in a timely manner Ensure that clinical teams are updated on policy changes, best practices, and any relevant developments
Operational Management:
Assist in the development of clinical policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure efficiency and patient safety Help coordinate resources to optimize operational flow Job Description To supervise and evaluate pharmaceutical services in an assigned area. To ensure pharmacy operations conform to all applicable internal and external regulations, are fiscally sound and promote quality patient care. Provides pharmaceutical care as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and two (2) years of experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
