Job Description
Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity seeks experienced pharmacists to support pharmacy operations at a respected 300-bed hospital located in the Auburn/Opelika area. This contract role is ideal for candidates with inpatient experience who are ready to start promptly and are flexible with scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and dispense medications accurately, primarily checking orders. Support the pharmacy team in daily clinical and operational tasks. Utilize the Cerner IT system to manage patient medication records. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use. Occasional sterile compounding tasks may be performed (helpful but not required).Qualifications:
Valid Alabama pharmacist license. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience. Familiarity with Cerner or similar hospital IT systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.Schedule:
Monday through Friday. Day shifts, varying start times between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, ending around 4:30 PM. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a community-focused hospital setting serving East Alabama. Assignments can be structured as a solid 13+ week commitment or as a temporary-to-hire (TTH) arrangement, depending on your preference and availability. Prompt start dates are preferred to best meet the hospital's staffing needs.
