Job Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required. Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Arkansas, such licensure granted by the State Board of Pharmacy after passing the required examinations or by reciprocity based in passing such examinations in another state. Experience Previous experience in hospital pharmacy essential. Physical This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Carrying up to 20 pounds. Frequent sitting, standing, bending, stooping, walking and reaching. Long term bending, sitting, standing, computer work and squatting.
JOB SUMMARY
Compounds and dispenses medications according to orders of physicians, dentists, or other practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Provide counseling and pharmaceutical care to employees as needed. Supervises and checks work of supportive personnel. Must be knowledgeable of standard pharmaceutical techniques and procedures, laws governing the practice of pharmacy, drug incompatibilities and interactions, pharmacology and toxicology. Maintains effective interdepartmental relations and collaborates with other departments and services to accomplish the medical center's mission and goals. Supports and cultivates a culture of accountability.
