Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire This is a rare permanent opportunity to join the only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in Arkansas — a 336-bed children's hospital with a nationally recognized pharmacy program. If you're an inpatient pharmacist looking to sharpen your clinical skills in a high-acuity, pediatric-focused environment, this role is a serious resume builder and a long-term career move worth making.
What You'll Be Doing:
Verifying medication orders with a pediatric lens — dosing reviewed against weight, age, BSA, and diagnosis Identifying and intervening on drug therapy issues including interactions, ADRs, therapeutic duplications, and compatibility concerns Initiating and optimizing drug therapy, recommending cost-effective alternatives without compromising outcomes Evaluating non-formulary drug requests and ensuring formulary compliance Monitoring patients in care areas and collaborating directly with providers on therapeutic recommendations Preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications to the highest quality standards Managing drug information requests, TDM reviews, and food-drug interaction assessments Supporting drug utilization review and inventory management, including wholesaler ordering and shortage coordination Educating patients, students, technicians, and fellow pharmacists — this team values teaching
What You'll Need:
Active Arkansas Pharmacist License (or willingness to obtain prior to start) Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required — pediatric experience is a strong plus Comfortable working nights and a rotating 7-on/7-off schedule Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced acute care environment What's in It for
