Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire An acute care pharmacist position is available in a leading pediatric hospital, specializing in comprehensive pharmaceutical care for children in a Level 1 pediatric trauma center. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to work in a 336-bed facility known for its commitment to quality patient outcomes and advanced pediatric care.
Location:
North Little Rock, AR Schedule:
7 days on, 7 days off
Thu-Sat:
7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sun-Wed:
8 p.m. - 7 a.m. Flexible scheduling available to accommodate personal needs
Responsibilities:
Verify dose appropriateness tailored to each child's diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area Identify and intervene in drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, duplications, and adverse reactions Evaluate and select cost-effective and efficacious therapies, including non-formulary drug assessments Ensure all medications meet high standards of quality, preparation, labeling, and administration Manage efficient processing and prioritization of medication orders Monitor patients to optimize therapeutic outcomes and collaborate with healthcare providers Contribute to the education of patients, technicians, pharmacists, and students, including discharge planning Provide accurate drug information and participate in drug utilization review activities Coordinate medication orders, substitutions, recalls, and inventory management efficiently
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Arkansas Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred Inpatient pharmacy experience, especially in acute care settings Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to scheduling needs
