Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Marana, AZ, is seeking a qualified pharmacist to join their team on a 13-week contract basis, with an immediate start date. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with extensive hospital experience, particularly in high-acuity acute care settings. Responsibilities include the safe and accurate distribution of pharmaceuticals to patients of all ages within the hospital system, in compliance with all applicable state, federal, DEA laws, and The Joint Commission standards. The pharmacist will collaborate closely with physicians regarding medication choices and dosing, educate nursing staff, patients, and doctors about medications, and actively participate in medication safety initiatives. Additional duties include managing patient profiles, preventing and reporting adverse drug reactions, preparing IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, and maintaining narcotic accountability.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience Experience in a high-acuity acute care hospital setting Familiarity with NICU protocols and cardiac cases involving Impella and ECMO devices Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, safety standards, and hospital policies
Schedule:
